Security Rating & Posture Scorecard
Your security posture is already being scored — by insurers, by large customers, and by anyone running a scan from outside. We show you the same picture they see, explain what drives it, and work through the fixes.
What it is
You are being assessed from the outside whether you ask for it or not
Security ratings work like a credit score. Platforms continuously scan what your organisation exposes to the internet — certificates, open ports, email authentication records, patch levels on public services, leaked credentials — and reduce it to a score and a set of findings.
That score is increasingly used in decisions that affect you. Cyber insurers price on it. Enterprise customers check it during vendor due diligence. It is a common part of tender and supplier onboarding processes. A poor rating can cost a contract without anyone telling you why.
Guardbyte monitors your rating continuously, translates the findings into work that actually matters, and tracks the score over time. Most of what drags a rating down is unglamorous — an expired certificate, a missing DMARC record, an exposed management interface — and fixable within days.

Capabilities
What the service covers
Continuous external scoring
Your internet-facing posture is assessed continuously rather than once a year, so new exposure is caught as it appears.
Prioritised findings
Issues are ranked by real risk and effort, so you fix the things that change the score and reduce exposure first.
Full external coverage
Network, application, certificate, DNS and email-authentication findings, plus leaked credentials associated with your domains.
Supplier & third-party ratings
Score the vendors who hold your data or connect to your network — increasingly a requirement under NIS2 and DORA.
Evidence for insurers & tenders
Reports formatted for cyber insurance applications, customer due diligence and supplier questionnaires.
Trend tracking
Score movement over time, so improvement is demonstrable to management rather than asserted.
Managed by Guardbyte
A score is not a project plan
Most rating platforms hand you a dashboard and a long list. What changes the number is someone doing the work.
01
Scope confirmed
We verify which domains, IP ranges and subsidiaries actually belong to you — misattributed assets are a common cause of an unfairly low score.
02
Findings triaged
Each finding is assessed for genuine risk. Some are false positives, some are trivial, and some deserve immediate attention.
03
Remediation delivered
Because we manage your environment, we fix what we find — certificates, DNS records, exposed services — rather than sending you a task list.
04
Reviewed regularly
Score and findings are reviewed with you on a schedule, with the evidence you need for insurance renewals and customer questionnaires.
FAQ
Questions we get asked
Who else can see our security rating?
Rating platforms are commercial services, and insurers, enterprise customers and partners subscribe to them. Your score is generally visible to anyone who pays, which is why it is worth knowing what it says.
Is this the same as a penetration test?
No. A penetration test is a deep, point-in-time assessment by people actively trying to break in. A security rating is continuous, automated and external-only. They answer different questions and most organisations benefit from both.
How quickly can a low score improve?
Faster than most people expect. A large share of findings are configuration issues — expired certificates, missing email authentication, exposed management ports — that can be resolved within days once someone owns them.
Do insurers really use this?
Increasingly, yes. Cyber insurance applications ask about controls, and several insurers use external scoring as part of underwriting and pricing. A documented improvement trend helps at renewal.
Can you score our suppliers too?
Yes, and under NIS2 and DORA supply-chain assessment is moving from good practice to obligation for many organisations.
